Blake Cabello attends college on a football scholarship. He lives in a frat house and easily up to his reputation as a hot jock, until his father decides to get remarried. Jamie Rush was a senior in high school and living a quiet life with his mom when she married Blake’s dad. Jamie came out to her and his friends in Oregon years before and his new step-father and step-brother, as masculine as they both are, don’t seem to have a problem with that. That is until Jamie leaves for college and the same fraternity house that his step-brother has lived in for the past year. Jamie just wants to get an education. He joined the fraternity to please his mother and step-father who had met there years earlier. Blake just wants to keep his reputation intact and do his best to not disappoint his father. Smaller than the rest of them and not the least bit aggressive, Jamie becomes an easy target for the bullies that live in the frat house. If that wasn’t bad enough, the step-brother he has looked up to and even developed a little crush on at home, seems to always be right there in the center of it all, and not on Jamie’s side. Jamie doesn’t want to dislike Blake, but sometimes it seems that’s exactly what Blake is trying to get him to do. Blake doesn’t really have a problem with Jamie, but he does have a reputation to uphold. As a matter of fact, Blake has a lot of secrets that he’s struggling with, an almost double life that he’s leading and scared to death that someone else is going to discover. For one thing he’s been having dreams about his step-brother. They’re unsettling and confusing. He’s not gay, not even a little bit, so why does Jamie have such an effect on him? Then there’s his involvement in the underground world of fighting. He thinks it’s a good way to release his stress and actually do something just for himself for a change…but has he gotten in too deep? When Blake’s double life implodes and Jamie’s the only one there to save him, will his step-brother step up, or will Jamie take a page out of Blake’s playbook and simply walk away?

Frat Brother Turned A Straight to Gay Romance Stepbrother Chronicles Volume 1 Cole Bates 9781543165340 Books Reviews
I really enjoyed this book. I really liked that they finally found a way to love each other even with the trouble with him getting hurt with the illegal fighting and almost dieing. I am glad he was found that made him reliezed his love for his step brother. I valunarily recieved a free copy for a honest review.
Enjoyable story of step brothers Jamie and Blake who attend NYU and live in the same frat house. Blake appears as straight, while Jamie is openly gay, and has always been in love with Blake. Jamie is forced to endure bullying and homophobia, even from his step brother who's afraid to defend Jamie. Blake assumes the others will think him gay too. Not to spoil the story, but Blake has serious anger and fist fighting issues which almost cost him his life. Blake finally admits his own sexuality and love for Jamie ending in a HEA.
I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
I did not like this book at all, I thought the whole thing was stupid, but when I got towards (what I am assuming was the end) I couldn't even finish! Why wouldn't the brother call the police for help when he fished his step brother's body out of the river after two thugs dumped him there to die? Why would he think police sirens would alert the thugs to the fact that his brother was still alive? Why would he think it was better to call his friends then wait 20 minutes out in the open (where the thugs really could have found them) for them to pick them up? The whole surmise was just stupid. If he had done the smart and logical thing, calling the police, his brother would have gotten help sooner! Not only that all the bad guys wouldn't have gotten away! Which they because the idiot didn't call the police at all! Terrible book!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book..... This was a moving step brother romance between Jamie, and Blake. I thought that the style of writing was excellent because it alternated between the point of view of Blake and Jamie. They both went to the same college (same frat house) where Jamie was sometimes picked on. Blake would have a very hard time trying to defend him since he worried so much about what the guys would think of him, then he'd feel guilty and do something nice for Jamie later. That's the part that irritated me. I totally hate bullying of any kind, and since Blake loved to fight (professionally, not always legally) it seemed like he'd have no problem defending Jamie. The plot was gripping, and even sad at moments, but it definitely held my attention. Lyndsy (Blake's girlfriend) was one of my favorite characters. She was thoughtful and very understanding. It does end a bit abruptly, but overall, it was a touching yet riveting read. )
I love this author. Every story brings me back for more. Great book that I highly recommend.
